Find a HSCPOA Registered and Accountable Personal Support Worker (PSW) using HSCPOA’s Public Register of PSWs

Are you considering using a Personal Support Worker (PSW)?
The Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA), the new oversight body for registered PSWs in Ontario, protects the public by maintaining a searchable online Public Register of Ontario’s HSCPOA registered PSWs.

The Public Register is a key resource for everyone. You can easily check whether a PSW is registered with HSCPOA. Employers can identify PSWs who have met HSCPOA’s registration requirements. And HSCPOA registered PSWs demonstrate their commitment to safe, quality, ethical, accountable care, which helps build trust with employers and care recipients.

HSCPOA’s Public Register of PSWs protects the public by making the following information available:

Registrant Information
Find the name, gender, languages spoken, and business details of every HSCPOA registrant.

Registration Status
Find out if a HSCPOA registered PSW is active and in good standing with HSCPOA, or if their registration has been suspended or revoked, or has any terms, conditions or limitations on their registration.

Conduct History
View any complaints and disciplinary actions taken by HSCPOA, and other regulatory bodies, as well as relevant charges or convictions for certain offences.

While registration with HSCPOA is currently voluntary for PSWs in Ontario, those who are registered with HSCPOA have:

Shown their ability to meet the educational and/or experience requirements set out in regulation,
Pledged to provide supportive care services in accordance with HSCPOA’s Code of Ethics for PSWs, and
Demonstrated to recipients of supportive care services, employers, and colleagues that as a HSCPOA PSW registrant, they have met newly established registration requirements including education and/or experience, and good character.

Only eligible PSWs registered with HSCPOA can proudly use/wear the HSCPOA PSW Registrant ‘Visual Mark’ provided by HSCPOA, easily recognized by recipients of PSW supportive care services, employers and colleagues.
