Competition is heating up at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and we’re cheering on our Canadian athletes as they go up against the world’s best.
Since the first Winter Games in 1924 were held in (you’ll have to do the trivia contest to find out where), Canada has accumulated 225 medals of all colours: 77 gold, 72 silver and 76 bronze. We’ll be watching closely this year as our athletes try to add to this medal haul. Expectations are running high and there’s a chance we might even match our best Olympic showing ever – perhaps topping the 29 medals we captured at the PyeongChang Winter Games in 2018.
And while it might be hard to top the national euphoria that followed Sidney Crosby’s “Golden Goal” at the 2010 Games in Vancouver, our men’s and women’s hockey teams are poised for similar morale-boosting gold medal wins against our most heated rivals – the U.S.
